Monte Ray McBride, Sr.
February 20, 2026
Monte Ray McBride, Sr., 74, of Gotebo, Oklahoma, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Corn, Oklahoma. He was born on January 9, 1952, in Roundup, Montana, to Barney and Donna McBride. Monte grew up in Augusta and carried those small-town values with him throughout his life. On August 4, 1971, he married the love of his life, May Rose Momb, in Great Falls, Montana. Together they built a strong, loving family and raised two children, Jan and Monte, Jr. Monte was a true farmer and rancher at heart. He spent his days taking care of goats and sheep, driving tractors, and working the fields. He wasn’t afraid of hard work — in fact, he believed in it. The land, the animals, and the simple rhythm of farm life were where he felt most at home. He also worked at Mountain View Horse Sale Barn for 34 years and then went to work at the Clinton Cotton Gin for 14 Years until his passing. Over those years, he made many friends and earned the respect of everyone who knew him for being dependable and hardworking.
More than anything, Monte loved his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being around them brought out his biggest smiles and happiest moments. Monte will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for the land, and the deep love he had for his family.
