Deloris Ann 'San' Pierce

Deloris Ann “San” Pierce, 88, of Gotebo, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on March 26, 2026.
She was born on July 10, 1937, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Autry “Tiny” and Otha Connie “Peggy” Lee. San was raised in Lake Valley, where she attended school and graduated from Lake Valley High School in 1955. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning her Bachelor's and Master’s Degree and began a lifelong career dedicated to helping others.
San taught Home Economics at Gotebo High School, where she not only educated her students but also guided them in learning essential life skills. Her passion for helping people led her to continue her work as a counselor with DHS and within the prison system. She served as a Substance Abuse Counselor at both the Granite and Sayre prisons. San deeply cared for those she worked with and was devoted to helping others find strength, direction, and hope.
Outside of her career, San was a woman of many talents and an even bigger heart. She was an exceptional seamstress, always creating beautiful clothing, and heartfelt handmade pieces. Her sewing machine was rarely still, as she was constantly working on something special for those she loved.
San also found great joy in cooking, especially for her family. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and love, where she shared meals and made lasting memories. She also cherished time with her grandchildren, caring for them, nurturing them, and surrounding them with unconditional love.
San loved her family deeply and wholeheartedly.  She will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother, talented creator, and a woman who dedicated her life to helping others.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children: Obie Chancellor, Gotebo, OK, Donde Pruitt and husband Mike, Blanchard, OK Donnie Chancellor, Farwell, NM; grandchildren: Megan Flick and husband Ryan, Elk City, OK, Kasie Hamlin and husband Seth, Muskogee, OK, Brandon Pruitt and wife Haley, Royse City, TX, Tyler Chancellor, Desire Chancellor; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Autry “Tiny” & Otha Connie (Peggy) Lee.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., April 2, 2026, at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Gotebo, Oklahoma.
Inurnment will be in the Sharon Cemetery in Gotebo, Oklahoma. 
Services are under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
