Darren Michael Luther, 49, passed away on April 20, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.
Darren Luther was born on December 24, 1976, to Kateri Kay (Luther) and Vincent Ahtone, and was the oldest of five siblings. Darren grew up in Anadarko, Oklahoma, where he was the sidekick to his Grandpa Sy. In his teenage years, he moved to Carnegie, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of Carnegie High School Class of 1995. He was a member of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes, and worked for them for many years. He had also worked for the Four Tribes Consortium, WCD Enterprises, Inc., and Downtown Women’s Center Warehouse in Amarillo, Texas. He was very passionate about watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners.
Darren is survived by his children: BreeAnn (Luther) Wetselline and husband Gerald, Oklahoma City; Sylvester Luther and wife Shania, Hinton; Autumn Luther and companion David Nish, Carnegie. Grandchildren: Nyla Prince, Jakoby Howell, and Riley Howell. Sisters: Shannon Ahtone, Anadarko; Juanita (Ahtone) Moore and husband Bryant, Edmond; Arissa Ahtone and companion Brian Wetselline, Muskogee; Alice Ahtone, Anadarko. Uncle Robert Walker and wife Christi, Yukon. He also has many numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and relatives that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kateri Kay (Luther) Ahtone; father, Vincent Ahtone; grandparents Sylvester and Eva (Guy) Luther; Vernon and Juanita Ahtone.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Anadarko, OK.
Visitation was from 3:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2026, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Anadarko, OK.
Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Anadarko, OK.
