Clifton ‘Strawberry’ Tofpi

Clifton “Strawberry” Tofpi, 78, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, went to his heavenly home peacefully on August 4, 2026, in Carnegie, surrounded by family and loved ones. Strawberry was born on December 9, 1947 to Conrad Cannon and Ethiline ”Boots” Tsalote Tofpi, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. He was given the nickname Strawberry by his grandpa, Roger Tofpi, at birth. Raised by his grandmother, Anna Katy Tofpi, he grew up in Carnegie, where he made lifelong friends and memories. He then moved to Oklahoma City and graduated from Classen High School in 1967. After graduating high school Strawberry went into the Army. As a young man, he loved sports and was known for being naturally athletic and always ready for a little friendly competition. His life changed and he gave his life to the Lord in 1988 and was big on his faith. On March 18, 1989, he married the love of his life, Sarita Unap, in Bell Gardens, California. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, friends and taking care of one another.
Throughout his life, Strawberry worked hard and wore many hats. He spent years as a truck driver in Compton, CA. Also worked at Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma, Apache and Comanche Housing Authority, and later owned and operated Tofpi Construction. Strawberry served the Lord for 37+ years, he would drive to Riverside to pick up the youth to bring them to church every Sunday. He served in every capacity with Victory Assembly of God Church in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He was member of Botone United Methodist Church in Carnegie, Oklahoma. At his passing he was a member of the 1st Caddo Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. Strawberry loved being outdoors. Fishing, basketball and golfing were some of his favorite pastimes, but nothing brought him more happiness than spreading the word of God, praying for people, going to church, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and the rest of his family. Especially his last two grandbabies, Sophie and Scarlett. Strawberry. He was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Tofpi, Jr., OKC, OK, Dwayne Keith Tofpi, Oklahoma City, OK, Candace Milam Oklahoma City, OK, Kevin Michael Tofpi and wife, Carol, Oklahoma City, OK, Anna Claire Tofpi, Tulsa, OK, Travis Tofpi, Buffalo, NY, Corey Clark Tofpi, Carnegie, OK, Samantha Irene Martin and husband, Taylor, Carnegie, OK, as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by sisters: Rev. Jan Haury Ticeahkie, Geronimo, OK, Catherine Haury, Wichita, KS, and Theresa Kayitah, Carnegie, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Conrad Cannon and Ethiline “Boots” Tsalote Tofpi; grandmother, Anna Katy Tofpi; siblings, Donald Haury, Jr Haury, Herman Haury, Elizabeth Haury, Elizabeth Haury, Nancy Haury and Lottie Haury, brother in law: Rev. Fred Ticeahkie.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, Carnegie, OK
Visitation was from 3-8 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2026, and from 1-5 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
A Wake was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at Cedar Creek United Methodist Church, Carnegie, OK.
Interment was in the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OK.
Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
