Joann Thompson

Joann Thompson, 79, of Mountain View, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on June 4, 1944, to James Andrew and Katherine (Kelly) Jones in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Joann grew up in Spencer and graduated from Star Spencer High School in 1962. She worked at First National Bank in Oklahoma City for several years. Joann owned and operated her own beauty shop. She married Don Thompson in June of 1987 in Mountain View, Oklahoma. She worked at First National Bank in Mountain View for a while and then worked for the City of Mountain View as City Clerk. Joann loved being with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Don Thompson, Mountain View, OK; children: Doug McFarland and wife Julie, Edmond, OK, Bruce Thompson and wife Chandi, Mountain View, OK, Belinda Sears and husband Pete, Tulsa, OK and Brian Thompson and wife Cheryl, Sayre, OK; grandchildren: Gracie, Eli, Chambree, Jennifer, Stephanie, Shawna, Michael, Amanda and Chris, numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Jones and wife Sandy, Jones, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Katherine Jones; sister, Susie Jennings, and brother, Jimmy Jones.
